Montgomery County police identified Victor Perez, 57, as the victim of the fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Thursday evening in Silver Spring, according to a statement from police officials on Tuesday.
Officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews responded at about 7:20 p.m. to the area of East Franklin Avenue and Seminole Street for the report of a pedestrian who had been struck, police said in their initial statement Thursday night.
MCFRS crews transported Perez in critical condition to a local hospital where he later died, according to the statement. The driver of the silver Honda CR-V stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. The death marked the second pedestrian fatality last week in the county.
The investigation is active, and Montgomery County police ask anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them at 240-773-662.
