The Gaithersburg City Council approved a redevelopment plan for the former Lakeforest shopping center on Thursday. The new development will include housing, shopping and dining. Couple saves toy drive
After the coordinator for the Montgomery County Toys for Tots said the group was a month away from canceling this year’s toy drive due to lack of storage, a couple gifted the organization a warehouse to use for the event for free. [WTOP]
Rockville residents, local elected officials call for rent control measures
Rockville City Councilmember Izola Shaw is calling for the city to enact its own rent stabilization measures noting that increases of 10% to 30% are commonplace. The jurisdiction is exempt from the county’s rent control legislation that was enacted in July. [WUSA9]
