Two Montgomery County public elementary schools have received national honors for academic excellence and teaching innovation. Historic Black neighborhood in Chevy Chase honored with marker

A Black neighborhood in the Chevy Chase area that was shut down before it could reach its full potential was honored with a historical marker on Saturday. The planned neighborhood, Belmont, was shut down three years into construction due to racist threats. [WTOP]

Takoma Park to enforce red light violations

Takoma Park police are implementing a new program to enforce red light violations. Drivers who are caught running a red light within city limits will receive a warning in the mail. After 30 days, police will start issuing citations. [NBC 4]
