The death of an 18-year-old woman in Montgomery Village is being investigated as a homicide, according to a Wednesday news release from Montgomery County police.
Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to a residence in the 18600 block of Calypso Place around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday for the report of “a deceased person,” according to the release.
The woman’s body was located and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine how she died, the release stated.
According to police, there is no suspect in custody and this remains an active and ongoing investigation. The department plans to release more information to the public once it is available and next of kin are notified.
