Gregorio’s Trattoria, a local Italian restaurant, has opened its latest location at Park Potomac, a residential, dining and retail development off I-270 in Potomac.

Owner Greg Khan told MoCo360 that the restaurant at 12505 Park Potomac Ave. opened Sept. 9 and will soon provide outdoor dining for patrons.

Khan said he decided to open the restaurant’s fourth location only about 2 miles from another Gregorio’s Trattoria because the other Potomac location at 7745 Tuckerman Lane had been turning down parties and experiencing slower carry-out and delivery service because of a lack of capacity.

The restaurant’s other locations are at 4611-A Sangamore Road in Bethesda and in Reston, Virginia.

Gregorio’s serves traditional Italian cuisine such as lasagna, pasta dishes, eggplant parmesan, specialty pizzas and panini sandwiches as well as meat and seafood items. Main dishes range from $16 for spaghetti pomodoro to $48 for a grilled veal chop, according to the menu.

Desserts range from $4 to $11 and include Italian classics such as gelato, cannoli, tiramisu and Italian Limoncello cream cake.

The restaurant also offers a gluten-free menu with pizza, pasta, meat and seafood dishes and antipasti options.

Since opening the new location, Khan said the community has been “incredibly supportive [and] embracing” and that he looked forward to serving a new area of Potomac.

“I’ve met a lot of people that live and work in Park Potomac. I’ve also met a lot of people [who say] it’s just a more convenient location for them because of access to I-270,” Khan said. “So, people that we might have seen every once in a while, I hope we’ll see them more often now.”

Khan described Gregorio’s Trattoria as a “neighborhood restaurant” that aims to be an active part of the community and take part in customers’ important life events, such as birthdays and anniversaries.

“That’s what we do it for, to participate in those things. And when you can’t because you have to say no, it makes it difficult,” Khan said.

The Park Potomac location comes nearly four years after Khan opened Gregorio’s Trattoria at the Shops at Sumner Place in Bethesda in November 2020. Before that, Khan opened the restaurant’s first Montgomery County location in Potomac’s Cabin John neighborhood in 2012. Khan opened the first Gregorio’s Trattoria restaurant in 2008 after buying an existing restaurant in Reston.

Khan said he has no plans to open another location in the county but would “if the right opportunity was to present itself.”
