Community rallies around Northwest High teen recovering from gunshot wound

Chase Lancaster, 16, a rising junior at Northwest High School in Germantown, is on the road to recovery after he was shot at a party in Frederick County on Aug. 9 when he shielded another teenager. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the teen’s family with medical bills as Lancaster remains in intensive care. [WTOP]

Potomac ‘Lice Lady’ offers tips for treating and preventing the parasitic insects

Lauren Salzberg, also known as the Potomac Lice Lady, can treat up to 20 people a day for lice at her salon in Gaithersburg. Due to relaxed protocol from the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics around school attendance for students with lice, Salzberg recommends families use a lice treatment and a professional grade comb to treat the lice.
