Montgomery County police officers are investigating gunfire that occurred Tuesday morning outside a McDonald’s restaurant on Bel Pre Road in Silver Spring, according to authorities.
No injuries have been reported in the incident that occurred shortly before 11 a.m. and there is “no threat to the community,” police wrote on social media at 11:36 a.m.
According to police radio transmissions, multiple callers reported gunfire at the McDonald’s at 2270 Bel Pre Road around 10:55 a.m. One call reported that a suspect got off a Ride On bus, shot at a vehicle and then ran off. The suspect was accompanied by another person.
Police officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews were dispatched to Layhill Park near the McDonald’s following the shooting, where an alleged victim was waiting. According to police transmissions, the car had bullet holes, but no one was injured.
A person who matched the description of the shooter was located by police behind the McDonald’s shortly after the incident, according to radio transmissions. However, police posted on social media at 11:30 a.m. that they didn’t have anyone in custody.
