Seven people were injured in a collision involving five vehicles Friday night on northbound I-270 between Route 28 and Shady Grove Road, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).
MCFRS responded around 11 p.m. to a report of a collision on the highway, spokesperson Pete Piringer wrote on social media.
Seven patients were evaluated, including two with serious but not life-threatening injuries and five with non-life-threatening injuries, Piringer said.
Traffic lanes were blocked due to the collision, he said. No further information was provided.
Earlier Friday night, MCFRS crews responded around 9:15 p.m. to a report of a collision at a home in the 12200 block of Morning Light Terrace in Gaithersburg, where a sports utility vehicle had crashed through the rear wall of an attached garage, according to Piringer.
Piringer said first responders helped the uninjured driver get out of the Honda CR-V, which had dropped about 5 feet. The vehicle was stuck in the wall, according to photos he posted.
The garage was damaged, but the main part of the house was unaffected, Piringer said.
