Isaac Hirsch, who grew up in Ashton and was a member of the quiz bowl team at James Hubert Blake High School in Silver Spring, is on a winning streak on Jeopardy!, picking up his seventh win Thursday night.

Hirsch’s father was on the same show in the 1980s, he said. He lost, though, which the younger Hirsch says meant he “used to tease him about it as a kid.” (MyMCMedia)

Family of electrocuted worker remembers him as ‘the greatest dad’

The family of utility worker Osmar Chavarria, who died after being electrocuted in a bucket truck near power lines in Montgomery County, spoke to DC News Now about its memories of the hus band and father.

“This wasn’t just a loss to my kids, to me, to his parents, to our friends. This is a loss to the world,” Carmen Chavarria, his wife, said. (DC News Now)

Visit Rockville on Saturday for free Häagen-Dazs

To celebrate the grand opening of a new Häagen-Dazs in Rockville, the store will give away free cups or cones and scratch-off cards on Saturday.
