Joe Lee, the founder of Joe’s Record Paradise, a popular Montgomery County record store and gathering spot for music lovers in the Washington, D.C., area died July 4. Former student member of county school board shares challenges, accomplishments of the last year
Sami Saeed, the former student member of the Montgomery County Board of Education faced a challenging school year managing the district’s multiple crises while balancing the needs of students.
“It was so tough. Some of the things I was learning were so troubling,” Saeed said. “I had to go to a student meeting or something with a big smile on my face. The students would be talking about the same problems that they were talking about during my campaign, but my head is somewhere else.” [The Washington Post]
Westfield Montgomery mall transforms into Dinosaur Safari fest
An immersive dinosaur safari-themed festival featuring more than 70 animatronic dinos, interactive exhibits, light installations and other activities is being held at Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda until Aug. 4.
