Rockville city police were searching for a suspect Thursday night after a man was shot in the abdomen in the area of Blandford and E. Argyle streets in Rockville, according to police radio transmissions.
Police warned the public to stay away from the area.
The investigation is ongoing; however, no one is in custody at this time, Rockville City Police told MoCo360 in an email Friday morning.
The man, who had “heavy bleeding from his chest,” was transported by emergency crews to an area hospital, the transmissions said.
Officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded about 8:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the area of Blandford and E. Argyle streets, Rockville city police said in a Thursday night statement.
The first responders found a man “suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen and rendered aid,” the statement said. The 26-year-old man was transported and is “in stable condition.”
A witness saw a subject running and saw another subject shooting at someone else, according to the transmissions.
The suspect possibly was wearing a black hoodie and gray jeans, according to the transmissions.
