National Weather Service warns of high temperatures

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory across Montgomery County and surrounding regions.

Due to high temperatures all week, residents should drink plenty of fluids and pay close attention to children and pets while in vehicles or outdoors, the agency cautions. (National Weather Service)

Animal adoption center reopens

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center in Derwood, which closed in early May due to an outbreak of a dog virus, reopened.

Montgomery Parks climber quests upward for chestnut flower

Montgomery Parks’ urban forestry team ventured about 80 feet in the air to collect flowers from a notable chestnut tree.
