Chris Kirkpatrick, a member of the boy band NSYNC, will perform with British band BBMAK and others at a concert celebrating the ‘golden era’ of pop music Sunday at Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda, according to mall officials.
In addition to Kirkpatrick and BBMAK, the Pop 2000 Tour show at the mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd. will include performances by Ryan Cabrera, O-Town, and LFO, mall officials announced in a statement.
NSYNC, whose other members included Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and JC Chasez, had a string of hits in the mid-1990s to early 2000s, including “I Want You Back” and “It’s Gonna Be Me.”
The concert will run from 1 to 3 p.m. on the mall’s level one near the Nordstrom store. The event is open to the public, but attendees must RSVP on the Westfield Montgomery website, the statement said.
In addition to the concert, the mall is offering other “nostalgic” activities starting at noon, including airbrush tattoos, rhinestone gem art, a Spin-To-Win contest, and a 2000s photo moments station on level one near the Kiehl’s store.
Concert attendees also can purchase boy band merchandise and have a selfie taken with the performers after the concert, according to the statement.
Local radio station HOT 99.5 will broadcast live from the mall from noon to 3 p.m. and some shops and eateries will be offering product discounts.
“The Pop 2000 Tour will bring the energy and excitement of 2000s pop music to Westfield Montgomery, giving our community the chance to relive that era in music,” Leah Heil, senior vice president of shopping center management at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, said in the statement. “We look forward to watching the audience transport back in time and sing along to hits they’ll never forget, while creating new memories with friends and family.”
