Police name suspect in 37 alleged thefts from Chevy Chase Amazon Fresh

About $7,000 in merchandise taken from Wisconsin Avenue store

Montgomery County police announced Wednesday the name of a man suspected of stealing about $7,000 worth of merchandise in dozens of thefts from the Amazon Fresh store in Chevy Chase.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Grady Simmons, 35, who is a suspect in 37 thefts that allegedly occurred at the store in the 5400 block of Wisconsin Avenue between August 2023 and April 2024, according to a statement released Wednesday.

The statement did not say how police identified Simmons as a suspect or where he may reside.

Simmons is described as a Black male about 5 foot 11 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair and weighing about 180 pounds, according to the statement.

Anyone who comes into contact with the suspect or knows about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 301-279-8000, the statement said.
