Firefighters battle Rockville house fire

Four adults and two children displaced; dog rescued

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews fought a blaze Wednesday afternoon at a single-family home in the 10900 block of Roundtable Court in Rockville that left six people displaced, according to officials.

MCFRS crews were dispatched to the two-story house at 4:20 p.m. after a home monitoring system triggered an alarm, spokesperson David Pazos wrote on social media.

Firefighters put out a fire that involved the first and second floors, according to Pazos. One person in the house at the time was able to get out and firefighters rescued a dog from the second floor. No injuries were reported.

Four adults and two children were displaced because of the fire, which is under investigation, according to Pazos.

The fire started on the first floor, he said. According to radio transmissions, a portion of the second floor may have partially collapsed into the first floor.
