Montgomery County police have identified a 23-year-old Rockville man as the motorcyclist who died in an early Saturday collision in White Oak.

Angel Eduardo Avila Lopez was riding a blue 2007 Yamaha R6 motorcycle eastbound on FDA Boulevard and approaching Cherry Hill Road when he collided with a curb and a traffic light support pole “for reasons unknown,” police said Monday in a statement. He was ejected from the motorcycle.

At about 1 a.m., police officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to the intersection of the two roads for a report of a single-vehicle collision, the statement said.
