Motorcyclist dies in White Oak collision

Incident occurred early Saturday

A man died early Saturday when he was ejected from the motorcycle he was riding after it struck a curb and a traffic light pole in White Oak, according to Montgomery County police.

Officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded about 1 a.m. to a report of a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of FDA Boulevard and Cherry Hill Road, according to a police statement released Saturday.

According to police, the man who had been riding a blue Yamaha motorcycle was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Police did not identify the man.

Police are investigating the collision and will release more information, including the name of the man, following proper notification of the next of kin, the statement said.
