Montgomery County firefighters battled house fires in Quince Orchard and Germantown on Monday afternoon that resulted in one injured adult and the displacement of at least two families, according to authorities.
At 3:45 p.m., Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer posted on social media that the occupant of a single-family home in the 15400 block of Peachleaf Drive in Quince Orchard suffered non-life-threatening injuries after a fire “likely started on the second floor.” The adult, who had attempted fight the fire, was transported to a burn unit at a local hospital, he said. A cat “got out ok.”
