Five adults were injured Monday morning when a Montgomery County Public Schools bus and a sports utility vehicle collided in downtown Silver Spring, according to the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service (MCFRS).
No students were on the school bus when the vehicles collided around 7:30 a.m. at Fenton Street and Philadelphia Avenue, according to MCFRS spokesman Pete Piringer.
Five adults suffered non-life-threatening injuries and four were likely to be transported to a local hospital, Piringer said on social media.
The crash pushed the bus 10 feet off the road and into a community garden while SUV ended up in the roadway median, he said.
No further information about the injured and which vehicle they were in was available.
MCPS and county police did not respond Monday morning to email requests for more information.
Monday’s collision marks the second time in four days that an MCPS bus was involved in a collision. On Thursday morning, one person was injured when a school bus and a Toyota Highlander collided in Boyds.
