Truck Day, an event offering families the opportunity to explore a variety of vehicles, was postponed from Saturday to June 1 because of impending rain, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation announced Friday.

The department’s event is now scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 1 at its Truck Depot and Salt Barn at 17000 Crabbs Branch Way in Rockville.

The event, initially scheduled to celebrate national “Public Works Week” running from Sunday through May 25, features county vehicles ranging from a fire engine to those involved in construction and transportation. Demonstrations of bucket, flusher and dump trucks are part of the day’s activities.
