MCPS school bus and SUV collide

At least one person injured Thursday morning, according to radio transmissions

At least one person was injured when a Montgomery County Public Schools bus and a sports utility vehicle collided Thursday morning in Boyds, according to emergency responder radio transmissions.

At about 8 a.m., Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to a report of a personal injury collision involving a school bus and a Toyota Highlander at Greenbrook Drive and Frederick Road, the transmissions said.

An occupant of the Highlander was injured, according to police and emergency radio transmissions.

No injuries were reported among the 43 students on the bus, MCPS spokesman Chris Cram said Thursday morning. The school bus was headed to Rocky Hill Middle School in Clarksburg.

Police officers from Frederick County responded to the scene, according to Montgomery County police spokesperson Shiera Goff.

Tow trucks were requested for both the bus and the SUV, according to the radio transmissions.
