Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill is anticipating a July opening for its location in downtown Silver Spring, according to its application for a beer, wine and liquor license from Montgomery County.

A hearing on the restaurant’s application before the Board of Licensure Commissioners is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the county’s Alcohol Beverage Services website.

The Laurel-based Tex-Mex restaurant is expecting to open around July 1 at 931 Ellsworth Drive, according to its application filed in February.

Owner Fidel Rincon did not immediately respond Wednesday morning to a phone message seeking comment on the restaurant’s opening plans.

The family restaurant’s other location at 14600 Laurel Place in Laurel features a menu offering meat, seafood and poultry entrees along with margaritas, cocktails, sangria and beer, according to its website.

The Ellsworth Drive location was most recently occupied by The Eleanor, a bowling lounge, bar and grill that closed in June 2023. It has previously been the home of Lincoln’s Bar-B-Cue, which closed in 2018. Other eateries that have occupied the space include A.G. Kitchen and Romano’s Macaroni Grill.
