Former Quince Orchard High football star selected in first round of NFL Draft

Gaithersburg’s Chop Robinson, a Quince Orchard High School graduate, was selected Thursday night by the Miami Dolphins with the 21st pick of the NFL Draft.

Robinson played for the University of Maryland and Penn State after high school and was considered a top defensive end prospect. (WJLA)

MCPS students earn U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist distinction

Four Montgomery County Public School students were named as U.S. Presidential Scholars semifinalists, among the 625 semifinalists from across the country.

Three of the semifinalists are students at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville and one attends Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville. (MyMCM)
