On Veirs Mill Road, between Edmonston Drive and Twinbrook Parkway, the speed limit was reduced to 35 mph, down from 40 mph, after the State Highway Administration approved the City of Rockville’s request for a speed limit reduction. The section of the road was under inspection by the city’s Vision Zero Task Force after a Dec. 26 crash that killed a pedestrian crossing the road. [Rockville Reports]

Poolesville’s girls’ tennis team shared the moment when teammates stopped warmups before a match against Sherwood High School to gaze at the solar eclipse. Bethesda Chevy-Chase’s girls’ rowing team was recognized for their months-long preparation for regattas in May, and Leo Pelmoter of B-CC’s boys’ baseball team was highlighted for his first high school home run. Peter Chang brings Chinese tapas to Gaithersburg restaurant
Chinese chef Peter Chang’s new restaurant in Gaithersburg is offering a Chinese-style tapas menu with sharable plates of pork wonton, spring rolls, sticky rice and pork belly burgers as well as traditional dim sum. The small plates are priced between $7 and $9 and the restaurant, at 637 North Frederick Ave., is holding its official grand opening April 18. [WTOP]
