Forest Oak Middle School staffer arrested for allegedly having loaded gun on campus

Building service manager faces multiple charges

A building service manager at Forest Oak Middle School in Gaithersburg was arrested Tuesday for allegedly having a loaded ghost gun on campus, the Gaithersburg Police Department said in a Wednesday release.

William Broadus Coleman, 30, of Washington, was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded handgun and possession of a dangerous weapon on school property, according to police.

On Tuesday, around 12:24 p.m., Gaithersburg Police Community Engagement Officers responded to the middle school at 651 Saybrooke Oaks Blvd. for the report of a staff member who possessed a firearm, the statement said. Officers approached Coleman and searched his vehicle, finding a loaded ghost gun, police said.

Coleman was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, the statement said. His attorney information and bond status are not currently available online.

Forest Oak Middle Principal Dr. Dacia Sewell wrote a letter to the community on Tuesday regarding the incident



This incident occurred around a month after a student was arrested with a loaded ghost gun at Gaithersburg High School on March 12.
