Montgomery County police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a man suspected in last month’s attempted child abduction in Gaithersburg, according to a Thursday release.
According to police, a 10-year-old girl was sitting outside an apartment building in the 18300 block of Lost Knife Road around 3 p.m. March 10 when a man grabbed her arm and “told her to come with him.” The victim said she believes the suspect ran away when he saw police cars approaching, according to police.
Detectives have released a composite sketch of the suspect with the hope that the public can identify him, the statement said.
Police described the suspect as a man with a light complexion (unknown race) who is about 25 years old with a thin build, a tattoo on the left side of his face and a straight lock of blond hair hanging over his forehead. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black sweatshirt jacket with a hood and black pants, the statement said.
Sixth District police officers, who cover the Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village areas, have increased patrols in the area, the department said.
