Montgomery County detectives are seeking the driver of a white Acura allegedly involved in a hit-and-run collision that killed a Silver Spring man Friday night.
On Saturday, police identified Ronaldo Franzese, 52, as the victim of the incident that occurred around 10 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Randolph Road and Kimblewick Drive in Silver Spring, according to a statement.
Officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded at 10:12 p.m. to a report of a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian and two vehicles near the intersection, police said in the statement.
According to police, the driver of a white 2023 Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on Randolph Road when the minivan mounted the curb for unknown reasons and struck Franzese, which caused him to fall into the roadway.
Franzese was then struck by a white four-door Acura, police said. The driver of the Acura fled the scene without rendering aid to Franzese. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not say whether the driver of the Honda Odyssey remained at the scene.
After the collision, the Acura was seen traveling seen driving north on New Hampshire Avenue and then west on Randolph Road, police said. The car, which is missing a fender line, may be an Acura TL from the model years 2009 to 2012 and may have additional front-end damage.
