The food hall Commas is moving closer to opening in downtown Silver Spring’s Ellsworth Place mall, according to Ellsworth Place spokesperson Jenn Buonanotte.

The food hall at 8661 Colesville Road does not have an official opening date, but furniture and signs should be installed by the end of April, and the establishment is set to announce its line-up of participating eateries in the next few weeks, Buonanotte said this week.

“Drawing from local businesses to create a bustling community of bites from Ethiopia to Korea, Malaysia to El Salvador, Italy to New Jersey, hungry diners can savor a new experience each time” at the upcoming food hall, says the Commas website.

Photo renderings show the food hall will offer a variety of seating, colorful decor and a bar in the middle.

The food hall will be on the third floor of Ellsworth Place next to McGinty’s Public House and will join a variety of stores and eateries in the mall, according to the mall’s website.
