Shooting on Rockville Pike sends man to hospital

Victim is in stable condition, police said

A shooting on Rockville Pike early Sunday morning sent a man to the hospital with two gunshot wounds, Rockville City Police said in a statement.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel were dispatched to the Woodmont Park Apartments at the 1000 block of Rockville Pike at 4:02 a.m. on Sunday for a shooting, according to radio transmissions.

Rockville City Police said they found a Rockville man suffering from two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was treated and transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in stable condition, according to the police statement posted Sunday.

The man’s identity was not shared in the statement, and police did not offer any additional information about a suspect.

The Rockville City Police Department said that it is actively investigating this incident and there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
