Silver Spring contestant falls short against Arlington opponent on ‘Jeopardy!’

Kevin Belle, a trail planner and drag queen who lives in Silver Spring, competed on “Jeopardy!” Thursday night. Belle, who had originally competed in 2023, was appearing in the show’s Tournament of Champions.

The winner of the round was Arlington’s Luigi de Guzman, who Belle has forged a friendship with. The regional matchup was “a very emotional moment,” according to de Guzman. (The Washington Post)

Peak cherry blossom bloom prediction revealed

The National Park Service has announced its prediction for when the famous cherry blossom trees found throughout Washington, D.C., and in Montgomery County will reach their peak bloom: March 23-26.

MCPS librarians chosen as finalists for state award

Lisa Hack and Melissa King, two librarians in Montgomery County Public Schools, are finalists for 2024 Maryland School Librarian of the Year. The award honors a school librarian for exemplary service and outstanding achievements.

The recipient, chosen from 11 finalists, will receive a plaque and registration to a conference. (MoCoShow)
