Montgomery County and Metro Transit police officers are investigating the shooting of a male juvenile Friday afternoon in the Glenmont Metro Station parking garage, according to authorities.
Around 4:12 p.m., Montgomery County officers responded to the Metro station at the 12500 block of Georgia Avenue, according to police.
Metro Transit police said its officers responded to the scene around 4:15 p.m. for a report of a shooting on the top level of the parking garage and found a male juvenile victim with a gunshot wound to the lower body.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to a WMATA spokesperson.
As of 6 p.m., Metro Transit police officers were searching for a suspect at the scene. An investigation is ongoing, a WMATA spokesperson said.
