MoCo seeks volunteers to support sexual abuse survivors

Montgomery County’s Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program (VASAP) is looking for volunteers to aid victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and their families. The county will conduct interviews and training sessions for those selected.

Volunteers would provide accessible crisis counseling and companion services at hospitals and police stations for victims of rape, sexual assault and domestic violence.

“These volunteers not only provide a crucial lifeline to those directly impacted, but also extend compassion and empathy to the families affected by such trauma,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. (MoCoShow)
