Good Ducking Burger, a burger joint with an Indian twist in Bethesda, has closed, according to Kelsey Kindall, a member of restaurant owner Ashish Alfred’s PR team.

Alfred opened the restaurant, located at 7929 Norfolk Ave, in October. The cuisine was described as “smash burger meets Indian food.” The menu offered classic burgers, fries and chicken sandwiches, along with Indian dishes, such as Delhi Hot Fried Chicken, The Pato Del Sur and Bollywood Fries.

David Hagedorn, Bethesda Magazine critic, said in a story about the restaurant that he enjoyed the signature Good Ducking Burger, which had two patties, American cheese, house mayo, sriracha-based “sexy sauce,” lettuce, tomatoes and onions. He said that “eating it was a gloriously messy and satisfying affair.”

The eatery replaced Alfred’s French bistro Duck Duck Goose, which opened in 2016, and also has Baltimore and Washington, D.C. locations.

“We started Good Ducking Burger as a pilot towards the end of our lease of Duck Duck Goose, it piloted well but the location wasn’t an exact match for the restaurant,” Alfred said in an email statement Thursday. “We are always looking for opportunities to reopen in the future and continue to support the Bethesda community but for now we are focusing on our presence in the Baltimore restaurant market.”
