An alleged assault between two female students resulted in a shelter-in-place at Benjamin Banneker Middle School in Burtonsville on Thursday afternoon, according to Montgomery County Police.
Police said on social media around 4 p.m. that “the situation is under control,” and that both students were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
The school is dismissing students on a staggered schedule, and police officers still remain on the campus, according to the police department.
