Body found in Colesville was missing woman, homicide victim, police say

The body found Saturday afternoon in Colesville, just south of the Intercounty Connector, has been identified as that of Keylin Yolibeth Chavez-Dominguez, 20, of Rockville, Montgomery County police reported.

The death has been deemed a homicide.

Chavez-Dominguez had been reported missing Jan. 2, police said in a news release. Family members and friends had last seen her Dec. 30 at her apartment in the 12300 block of Braxfield Court.

Officers responded around 2:01 p.m. Saturday to Upper Paint Branch Stream Valley Park, close to Hobbs Drive and Somerset Lane, to a report of a suspicious situation and found her body, according to the release.

The state medical examiner in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy, according to police. The investigation is ongoing, and no suspect is in custody.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477); tipsters may remain anonymous. Details that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $10,000, police said in a news release.
