A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Intercounty Connector (ICC) early Tuesday morning in the Layhill area.

The crash happened around 3:20 a.m., when a silver or grey vehicle traveling west hit someone, just before the Georgia Avenue interchange, according to a Maryland Transportation Authority police press release.

The victim died at the scene.

The victim will be identified after his family is notified, police said.

The westbound lanes of the ICC were temporarily closed at the Layhill Road interchange.

Police are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information to call them at 410-537-6905.
