The fast-casual restaurant Urban Plates has closed in Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery mall.

Urban Plates, which lists multiple locations in California on its website, opened its Bethesda location in early 2019.

In a statement to Bethesda Beat, the company wrote that it had “made the very difficult decision” to close the Bethesda location to “focus energy on growing and supporting our West Coast restaurants.”

“We know this is sad news … for us, for our locals who dined with us, and of course our team members. We trust that our fans understand we would only choose to close a location if it was the right decision for the greater Urban Plates family long term,” the company said in the statement.

The Moco Show previously reported on the closure of Urban Plates on Tuesday.
