The Italian restaurant Gregorio’s Trattoria, which has two locations in Montgomery County and another in northern Virginia, will open a fourth location in Park Potomac next year.
Gregorio’s serves classic Italian dishes such as eggplant, chicken and veal parmesan, linguine, ravioli, chicken marsala and shrimp scampi. Entrees range generally from $20 to $30.
The menu also includes specialty and customizable pizzas, which range from $12 to $27 depending on the type and size.
Gregorio’s other locations are in Reston, Va., Potomac’s Cabin John Village and Bethesda’s Shops at Sumner Place. The Bethesda restaurant opened last year.
Owner Greg Kahn told Bethesda Beat on Monday that he expects it to be at least 10 months before the new restaurant opens in the former Sugo space, which closed over the summer. Extensive renovation work must first be done inside, he said.
“We’re not just going into Sugo and putting up a new sign,” he said.
Kahn said takeout and delivery has been booming during the COVID-19 pandemic, which can mean wait times of more than an hour for customers. He hopes to serve more people by adding another location.
“The cost of doing business is significantly higher [during the pandemic], so it’s a major challenge. But as far as sales volume, we’ve maintained steady sales,” he said.
