Thai Chef Street Food, a Washington, D.C.-based Thai restaurant, is coming to Rockville Town Square this summer, landlord Federal Realty Investment Trust announced Monday.
Thai Chef Street Food specializes in “Bangkok-style vendor food,” according to a press release.
The Dupont Circle location serves classic Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, red curry, green curry, fried rice and “The D.U.I” (wok-fried rice noodle with chili and basil sauce). Those entrees are $14 to $17 depending on whether customers choose chicken, pork, beef, shrimp or tofu.
Thai Chef also serves other dishes branded as “street food,” such as crabmeat fried rice, salt and pepper garlic shrimp, duck noodle soup and Kapow (choice of protein fried in a wok with garlic, brown sauce, egg and vegetables). The street food items range from $15 to $20.
The Rockville location will be 3,535 square feet at 29 Maryland Ave., according to the press release. It will be the first location in the Maryland suburbs.
No specific opening date was given for Thai Chef, other than “late summer,” according to the press release.
It will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Thai Chef is the latest new restaurant planned for Rockville Town Square. The Mexican restaurant Plaza Oaxaca is scheduled to open this week. HalfSmoke, a D.C.-based sausage restaurant, is also planned for the retail area, although an opening date has not yet been given.
