A Germantown man was killed after his car hit the back of a truck in Germantown Monday morning, Montgomery County police said.

Louis George Yiallouros, 47, of Beehive Lane, was driving a 2019 Honda Accord just before 7:30 a.m. on Monday.

Police said in a press release that his Accord rear-ended a 2015 Ford F-550 stopped at a red light on Frederick Road at the intersection of Germantown Road, police said in a press release.

Yiallouros was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries, police said.

Elias De Cruz, 38, of Germantown, was driving the F-550, and another man was in the car, police said. Neither was injured.

Police had posted about the crash on Twitter Monday morning but gave few details and did not identify either driver.

A portion of Md 355 was shut down temporarily Monday.

Yialllouris’ body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy, police said Monday.

They are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
