The building that housed a restaurant serving Afghan cuisine is for sale, according to an area landlord who is facilitating the transaction.

Thomas Conley of the commercial real estate firm Conley Management in Bethesda told Bethesda Beat on Wednesday that 4917 Cordell Ave. is currently on the market.

Conley said that Faryab Afghan Cuisine closed in February. The closure was not related to COVID-19, Conley said.

Faryab temporarily closed in 2015 and reopened in 2017. The restaurant had become a favorite for international journalists, expatriates, diplomats and other frequent fliers, Bethesda Magazine reported in 2013.
