County records 162 new COVID-19 cases

County has added more than 100 cases for 11 straight days

Montgomery County added 162 coronavirus cases on Saturday — an increase of 0.62% from Friday.

The county has recorded more than 100 cases of the virus for 11 consecutive days. It has had a total of 25,993 cases so far.

The county recorded one new confirmed death on Saturday, according to the Maryland Department of Health, bringing the death toll from the virus to 833.

There have been 40 “probable” deaths. “Probable” deaths have the coronavirus listed as the cause of death on certificates but have not been confirmed by laboratory tests yet.

Across Maryland, there have been 145,281 cases COVID-19, an increase of 0.67% from Friday.

As of Saturday, there have been 4,000 confirmed deaths statewide.
