The number of coronavirus cases in Montgomery County rose 0.3% on Wednesday, bringing the total to 20,838, according to the Maryland Department of Health.
Seventy-two new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday.
One additional death was recorded, bringing the total to 790 confirmed deaths in the county.
There have been 39 “probable” deaths, in which the coronavirus is listed as the cause of death on certificates, but it has not been confirmed by laboratory tests.
Across Maryland, there have been 113,575 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday morning, an increase of 0.3% from the day prior. There have been 3,672 confirmed deaths statewide.
As of Wednesday morning, the state had conducted more than 2.1 million tests, and had a test positivity rate of 3.7%.
