Police say his motorcycle crashed into a Toyota RAV4 near intersection of River and Burdette roads

A Bethesda man who was in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday night in Bethesda has died, Montgomery County police said.

Scott Emerson Hess, 32, of Goldsboro Road, died Thursday night after a crash between his motorcycle and another vehicle near the intersection of River and Burdette roads.

Police wrote in a press release Friday morning that Hess was driving west on River Road on a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle when a 2014 Toyota RAV4, driven by 60-year-old Mohammad Mansour Rouhanian, tried to turn left onto Burdette Road. The two vehicles crashed, police said.

Police said they were called to the scene around 10:08 p.m. Hess was declared dead at the scene, police said. Rouhanian was not injured.

A police spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment Friday.
