Montgomery County police investigating case as a homicide

Montgomery County police said Monday evening that a man is in custody following the death of a female in the White Oak area.

Two adults were assaulted, too, police wrote in a press release. A female was taken to a hospital for treatment. A male was treated at the scene.

Police said they received a call from a resident in the 900 block of Balmoral Drive for a possible stabbing at a neighboring home. The call came in at around 3:22 p.m. on Monday.

Three people were found in a home on Balmoral Drive with injuries related to an assault, police said.

Police are investigating the case as a homicide. The victim’s identity will be given when her family is notified.

In a previous tweet on Monday, police wrote that “all subjects involved” had been identified and found.

A police spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment Monday evening. Police had not provided any additional updates on Tuesday morning.

The area is near Francis Scott Key Middle and Cresthaven Elementary schools.
