An Olney man was struck and killed Monday night as he tried to cross Georgia Avenue in Aspen Hill, according to Montgomery County police.
In a press release late Monday night, police identified the pedestrian as Jose Renan Guillen, 75.
Police said Beverly Bowler Babcock, 74, of Silver Spring, was driving a 2008 Honda Civic and hit Guillen. Babcock was heading north on Georgia Avenue.
Babcock was not injured, the press release said. Police did not indicate that there were any charges filed against her and are investigating the circumstances of what happened.
The crash happened around the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Aspen Hill Road. The area is near the Aspen Hill Shopping Center.
Guillen was taken to a local hospital, where he died, police said.
Police asked anyone who might have witnessed the crash to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
