Fast-casual Latin restaurant in Derwood planned for January opening

La Brasita, a fast-casual restaurant serving Latin food, is planning to open in Derwood in January, owner David Campos said. The restaurant will be at 7206 Muncaster Mill Road.

Campos, who also owns the sister restaurant La Brasa in Rockville, received approval for a liquor license from the Montgomery County Board of License Commissioners on Thursday.

He told the five-member commission that the restaurant will seat about 25. Customers, he said, will be able to buy beer and wine at the counter.

Campos said the restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and be closed on Sundays.

Pizza CS in Rockville to close

The fast-casual pizza restaurant Pizza CS, at 1596 Rockville Pike, will close in the next couple of months.

The restaurant has been serving Neapolitan-style pizza since 2011. Owners Ankur Rajpara and Jonathan Allen said they don’t plan to relocate after the shopping center where the restaurant is is torn down next year, Store Reporter reports.
