Uyghur Restaurant Opens in Rockville
Eerkin’s, a local chain of restaurants serving Uyghur cuisine, recently opened at 1701 Rockville Pike, in the spot formerly occupied by Rolls ‘n Rice.
The restaurant serves Middle Eastern foods such as falafel, pita bread and various types of kabobs. There are also main courses that include combinations of noodles, vegetables, and meat or fish seasoned with spices and served over rice.
Appetizers are between $3 and $10 while main courses run from $10 to $25. Customers can purchase a whole roasted lamb for $495, according to the menu.
Eerkin’s also has locations in Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. The Rockville eatery is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Daily Dish offering pre-made Thanksgiving meals
The Daily Dish in Silver Spring is accepting orders for Thanksgiving to Go through Nov. 24. The dinner serves eight and includes a precooked turkey with gravy, sage and mushroom stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, vegetables and pie for $235. Sides and dessert can be purchased separately.
Customers must reserve and pay for their meal by 5 p.m. Nov. 24. Pickups are at the Daily Dish from 2 to 9 p.m. Nov. 27 and 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 28. Customers are asked to call 301-588-6300 to reserve their meal.
The Daily Dish itself is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Baskin Robbins Closing in Rockville’s Congressional Plaza
The Baskin Robbins ice cream shop in Rockville’s Congressional Plaza is closing next month, a representative of the eatery confirmed Thursday. The store, which is at 1617 Rockville Pike, will officially close Dec. 15.
Baskin Robbins has other eateries throughout Montgomery County, including in Potomac, Aspen Hill, Silver Spring and Bethesda.
