Dog Haus, a national chain of restaurants known for its gourmet hot dogs and craft beer selection, is opening a second Montgomery County location next month in Kentlands.

Dog Haus came to the county in 2018 when it opened its Bethesda eatery.

The restaurant serves unconventional styles of hot dogs, such as the “Pineapple Express” — a bacon-wrapped dog with pineapple, a ginger glaze, crispy onions and other toppings. The restaurant also serves hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and plant-based foods.

The Kentlands restaurant is projected to open Dec. 2, Evelyn Vinueza, the manager of the future restaurant, said in an interview. It will be at 644 Center Point Way, near the newly opened Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas.

In February, after the Gaithersburg location was announced, it was expected to open in July. It was unclear this week why the opening had been pushed back five months.

Franchisee Faizan Khan said at the time that he planned to open “at least 10” Dog Haus locations across Maryland, D.C. and possibly Virginia.

According to a press release, the Kentlands restaurant will offer 24 beers and four wines with an emphasis on local beers. There will also be a dog-friendly patio and multiple TVs.

Vinueza said the Kentlands restaurant will have the same hours as the Bethesda restaurant, which are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
