José Andrés throws first pitch in Game 5 of World Series
Celebrity chef José Andrés, who lives in Bethesda, threw out the first pitch in Game 5 of the World Series, played Sunday in Washington, D.C.
Andrés, the founder of local restaurants including Jaleo and Minibar, did the Baby Shark clap with players in the dugout before throwing the pitch.

Local distillery offers lightbulb exchange
MISCellaneous, a craft distillery from Mount Airy, is teaming up with the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection for a lightbulb exchange.
On three dates in November and December, customers can visit county-run liquor stores in Germantown and Gaithersburg to exchange old incandescent light bulbs for new LED alternatives.
Participating stores include 18323 Leaman Farm Road in Germantown (Nov. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.), 12155 Darnestown Road in Gaithersburg (Nov. 23 from 2 to 5 p.m.) and 20680 Seneca Meadows Parkway in Germantown (Dec. 6 from 4 to 7 p.m.). [WDVM]
Montgomery County tracks online scams
The county’s Office of Consumer Protection has started tracking online phishing scams, which officials say are increasing.
Many of the schemes revolve around real estate transactions. Scammers will post realistic rental listings at below-market prices to lure renters into making payments. Many promise to send keys for the listing in exchange for rental deposits. [WTOP]
Gov. Larry Hogan writing memoir about his experiences
Gov. Larry Hogan is writing a book about his life and experiences in politics.
“Still Standing: Surviving Cancer, Riots, and the Toxic Politics that Divide America” is scheduled to be released in June.
The book is co-written with Ellis Henican, who co-authored another memoir with former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. [NBC4]
